About the Project

The Desktop Platform Engineer is a member of the Desktop Platforms team within the Firm’s Infrastructure area. This role participates in multiple technical teams, including Citrix, Windows Desktop, and Microsoft Intune / SCCM, contributing to a wide range of projects across functional areas while continuously developing technical expertise.

The objective of the Desktop Platforms team is to streamline the Firm’s workstation infrastructure through simplification, standardization, and automation. The team also provides users with a secure secondary platform that enables seamless access to core applications and documents, both within and outside the Firm.

Required skills:

  • MCSE certification preferred, with solid working knowledge of desktop hardware, Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, server/client systems (including peripherals), operating systems, virtual computing, and business applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Windows Desktop OS, Group Policies, Active Directory (AD/AAD), Azure Virtual Desktop, and Intune / Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server and Hyper-V is preferred.
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune/SCCM), including enterprise-level patching, application delivery, and operating system deployment.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Cloud technologies and Microsoft 365.
  • Proficiency in scripting and enterprise application packaging; PowerShell experience is preferred.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required, including different shifts; participation in on-call rotation is mandatory.
  • Travel may be required.

Scope of work:

  • Create and maintain a single global Desktop Standard Operating Environment (SOE), including all core software components and configurations, using Microsoft Endpoint Manager / Intune.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the deployment and management of desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Monitor the performance and health of cloud-based and on-premises devices, taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve user connectivity issues related to applications, assigned licenses, devices, and conditional access policies.
  • Create and maintain a single global Citrix / RDS server baseline build.
  • Maintain and manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Windows 365 environments.
  • Support and maintain the Firm’s mobile computing environment.
  • Package core and specialized applications in a consistent, modular manner to enable on-demand publishing and deployment.
  • Define hardware standards for new Firm-owned desktop and laptop purchases.
  • Develop, review, and maintain standards, policies, and recommendations for AVD/W365, RDS/Citrix, mobile, and workstation environments.
  • Establish processes to ensure local office feedback is incorporated into global standards and policies.
  • Minimize duplication of effort and unnecessary re-engineering.
  • Ensure knowledge is effectively captured and shared to reduce incident resolution times.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of RDS/Citrix and Microsoft Endpoint Manager toolsets to optimize user experience across the Firm.
