About the Project

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead our finance function and ensure excellence in financial management, reporting, and compliance. This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the integrity and accuracy of all financial data, including consolidated financial reporting across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
The ideal candidate brings strong operational expertise, international finance experience, and the ability to scale financial systems and processes in a fast-paced, global environment.

Required skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial management.
  • Proven track record in international or group-level finance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Ukrainian accounting and tax regulations.
  • Familiarity with tax and accounting in Poland, Israel, the UK, or UAE is a strong advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with FX, cash flow management, payroll, and client billing.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in English (spoken and written).
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., Zoho or similar).
  • Deep understanding of financial best practices with the ability to design, implement, and scale processes across jurisdictions.
  • Ability to work from the Kyiv office 2 days per week or remotely from Lviv.

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting IPO readiness or public company reporting.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA).

Scope of work:

Financial Reporting & Planning

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow).
  • Lead the consolidation of financials across multiple entities and business units.
  • Deliver regular financial reports, forecasts, and P&L statements to the CEO.
  • Lead budgeting, financial planning, variance analysis, and year-over-year comparisons.
  • Provide financial insights and scenario modeling to support strategic decision-making.

Banking & International Operations

  • Manage banking relationships in Ukraine, Israel, UAE, Poland, Colombia, and Georgia.
  • Oversee FX operations, intercompany transfers, and ensure liquidity across accounts.

Client Billing & Revenue Assurance

  • Supervise invoicing for 50+ clients and Employer of Record (EOR) projects.
  • Manage payment delays, lead billing audits, and act as the primary escalation point for billing issues.
  • Support client-facing teams and lead financial audits as needed.

Payroll & Payments

  • Oversee accurate and timely payroll for 550–600 employees and contractors globally.
  • Ensure compliance with payment schedules and local labor laws.

Tax & Compliance

  • Manage tax filings, statutory reporting, and payments across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate transfer pricing documentation and compliance with external consultants.
  • Ensure adherence to IFRS and local accounting standards.

Internal Controls & Process Optimization

  • Develop and implement financial policies, internal controls, and compliance frameworks.
  • Optimize financial systems (e.g., Zoho) and drive continuous improvement in workflows.
  • Resolve cross-departmental financial concerns and support scalability.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and support the finance team based in Ukraine.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with the fractional CFO and other stakeholders to align financial strategy with company goals.
