About the Project
The Messaging Engineer on the Global Messaging Team provides second- and third-line support for Exchange Hybrid (Online and On-Prem), Archiving (Enterprise Vault), and Email Security and Protection across all client offices.
The role includes providing support, contributing to system design, defining best practices, and developing standards and policies for Messaging systems. The Messaging Engineer analyzes and resolves issues while delivering new technology capabilities within the Messaging environment.
This role also supports the delivery of Global IT Messaging projects across all firm offices worldwide. The primary focus is the Global Messaging environment, ensuring consistent support, solutions, and deliverables globally.

Required skills:
Proficiency in the design and support of the following technologies:
- Microsoft Exchange Hybrid (Online and SE)
- Rubrik M365 backup systems (Exchange recovery)
- Veritas Enterprise Vault (server and client)
- Messaging Security solutions, including Proofpoint, Microsoft Defender, and Abnormal
- Microsoft Purview eDiscovery tasks
- PowerShell scripting for automation, administration, and troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of email protocols and technologies (SMTP, DNS, MX Records, TLS, DMARC, SPF, DKIM)
A B.Sc. or B.A. in Computer Science is preferred but not mandatory.
Scope of work:
- Participate in regular conference calls and meetings with the Global Messaging Team, providing updates and raising concerns from the local office level.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of Global Messaging policies and standards related to Exchange, Enterprise Vault (EV), and security.
- Provide guidance and assistance to local offices during consolidation efforts.
- Support training and mentoring initiatives to enhance the technical skill level of the team.
- Ensure all support incidents are properly logged and tracked in ServiceNow.
- Manage tickets through to resolution or escalate/reassign as necessary according to agreed SLAs, ensuring local IT staff and requestors are consistently updated.
- Liaise with Global teams, vendors, and third parties as required to resolve incidents.
- Participate in Global technical teams to develop recommendations for IT standards and policies.
- Attend conferences and seminars to stay informed about current IT technologies relevant to the firm and provide recommendations where appropriate.
- Maintain and continuously develop relevant technical skills through training (instructor-led or CBT), and by reviewing technical journals, white papers, and manuals.
- Provide training to local IT staff for supported systems (both one-on-one and group sessions).
- Provide 24/7 on-call support on a rotational basis with other Messaging team members.
- Maintain relevant Global systems, ensuring adherence to change control procedures.
- Deliver Global IT projects to offices, with involvement ranging from full project management to execution of specific project tasks. Projects may include system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including policies and procedures.
- Manage high-volume professional email correspondence, ensuring prompt, accurate, and professional responses.
- Resolve requestor issues through research, troubleshooting, and solution implementation.
- Support and maintain the Global Messaging infrastructure, including security, standards, and policy enforcement.
